There's no restaurant but one can request the caretakers to cook for them or buy food for them.
St. Bernard Beach Resort

The rich marine life of the Bantayan Marine Sanctuary near its shores make it also a good jump-off point to those who want to experience snorkeling.
Sunset
The Bantayan sunset is the most wonderful sunset I have ever seen. One can witness such breath-taking moment in the late afternoon at the fishport beside the Bantayan Public Market in Bantayan town.

Bantayan Public Market is where you buy Bantayan Island's famed foods like the danggit and pusit. It's also adjacent to the Spanish-era church.

Walking around in one of the most beautiful national parks in the world (concerning mountain landscapes) is worth all the effort. I can fully agree with the international survey that Alpamayo is the most beautiful mountain in the world. But, National Park Huascaran has more to offer than its shining star. Breathtaking views from the Punta Union pass. Tranquil surroundings in the Rio Santa Cruz Valley. Scary views from peaks over 6000 meter all around you. From the Alpamayo, Taulliraju, Huascaran, Huandoy and Caraz. Furthermore, probably the oldest ruins on the continent can be found nearby in the town Chavin de Huantar. Beautiful tunnel systems enriched with ancient old statues.

Preparing for a family adventure trip during the holiday season that everyone will enjoy can be a family endeavor. Here are some tips for finding and getting ready for your family's holiday trip:
1. Include your kids in the planning
Traveling is hard and traveling with children is even more challenging. But if they can contribute in picking a holiday adventure trip, they will surely look forward to it more. Let the old ones read the brochures of the destinations you are considering. Letting your kids help plan your holiday trip will eventually and actually give you and the rest of the family a better time.
2. Choose a trip designed for the family
Make calls to companies which offer trips especially intended for families. Talk about your children's interests and abilities to make sure that the trip you are planning is right for your family. You may also ask for references from people who have taken the trip you are considering.
3. Learn more About your destination
Read guide books and brochures about the destination you will be visiting. If you're going on a hiking trip, start taking walks with the kids to build up their stamina. If your kids have any special interests, find the time to purchase a book to find if that special interest could be enhanced in the trip you will be taking. If you're planning on a trip out of the country, it is better that you equip yourself with maps and translation books.
4. Packing for your trip
Pack the things which are suitable for your destination. Find out if there are recommended clothing or gear that you should bring. Only pack the necessary articles. Excess baggage is a no-no. Leave at the right time. Use your children's schedules to your advantage. For example, if you've got a long ride, see if you can leave an hour or so before their sleeping time. Most children can entertain themselves for a while so that gives you some time to prepare.
5. What you should bring
A first-aid kit is a must. You'll never know when you will be needing it. Don't forget the medicines. It is always a good idea to travel with medicines on hand so you don't have to worry about tracking down a drug store on the way to your destination. A bottle of insect repellent can also go a long way. If you have a toddler with you, do not forget to bring his favorite blanket, favorite toy or anything that gives comfort to him. For safety precaution, you might also want to have a pepper spray on hand. It is very effective for self-defense and personal protection. Remember that you are away from the comforts of your home. Anyone who travels are always prone to danger of all sorts. A stun gun would also do the work. Just make sure that your destination's laws allow it. Now that you know how to prepare, what to do and what to bring, you are now ready to plan for the perfect holiday get away for you and your family.

Amongst many others, famous artists Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci have their spectacular work exhibited in this cultural city's many museums. Boccaccio also wrote his 'Decameron' in the city. These artists are known all around the world for their astonishing work.
Between the 13th and the 16th century, Florence seemed to be an endless source of inspiration for many people. During this very creative time, Florence's renaissance palaces and squares were constructed, making the city a living, breathing museum. In any holidays that you can be, you are obviously pressed for time because there are so many places to visit and so little time. Sometimes the tourist guide that you have been with is not too keen to participate in some activities besides the ones listed in the itinerary such as hiking, rafting etc.
Therefore, it's only logical to engage in a reliable local tourist guide who knows the place inside out before flying off to your holiday destination or during your holiday. You can either do so with your travel agency such as the Morocco Travel Agency who specialises in Morocco or with local tour companies during your holiday.
Booking a local tourist guide offers you great time flexibility as you can visit any place you want according to your personal schedule. Say you are in Morocco and you want to visit the architectural heritage of Morocco but simply do not know where and how to go, finding a local travel agency such as the Morocco Travel Agency to sign up for a day tour around the beautiful sights of Moroccan buildings can leave you with happy memories to last.
Besides time flexibility, local tourist guide can also be cheaper than signing up for a whole tour package. With a whole tour package, you have to follow the fixed itinerary with every other tourist but maybe you have a conflict of interest which is not satisfied. What do you do?
Employing a local Morocco Travel Agency and or tourist guide is also a way to support the local tourism industry and boosting the economy of the country which will make a positive impact towards the local citizens there. You never know if you are actually helping the local government there to curb poverty.
So before engaging in a local tourist guide, you must first get your local Morocco Travel Agency to find out some details about that agency just to ensure your safety. Get some brochures and pamphlets on the destinations offered and do some research on the company's complaint history to check whether past clients have been satisfied or otherwise.
Once you sign up for it, you'll definitely not regret because you know you are in the good hands of a local who was born and bred there!

We all want fabulous budget travel holidays without breaking the bank. Here are three tips that will help you plan your next great holiday while staying on a budget. We'll go over the months you should target to travel that will give you the greatest travel savings, which type of airports to fly out of, and more general tips to give you the greatest bang for you buck. Let's get started:
1. Try to travel during "Shoulder Season", a term coined by the travel industry. This is a great time to travel because it's not High Season, which is when it's most expensive to travel and most crowded, and it's not Low Season, when the crowds are not there but the weather is the worst. You can generally save hundreds of dollars, if not thousands, on your vacation just by targeting Shoulder Season because airfare and hotels are cheaper. For example, go to Hawaii in March or September, Tahiti in November, Costa Rica in December, or Baja California in June.
2. Use the internet to your advantage. Many airlines, resorts, cruise companies, and hotel websites offer rewards to people who subscribe to their e-mails lists. Usually all it takes is for you to visit their website and find the place where you can enter your e-mail in exchange for discounts, rewards, etc. These e-mail lists are often one of the first or only places to get major, unadvertised discounts. Social marketing is on the upswing and you can follow the airlines, etc. on Twitter to get similar savings also.
3. Be flexible with your travel planning. By being open to flying out of a less commercial airport, or staying in a neighboring city that borders the touristy city, you will save money. Many people want to go to San Francisco but cannot afford the pricey hotel rooms in the city. Consider staying in neighboring Berkely and taking public transportation into San Francisco. Neighboring cities often have the same "feel" as the touristy cities, yet the local businesses are more accommodating and even grateful for your business. You are more apt to be treated like royalty because the locals like you being there, rather than being an annoyance, aka "just another tourist". Minor travel adjustments such as this can save you hundreds on your trip, while still being able to vacation in the city of your choice.
I hope this helps you see that the possibility of budget travel holidays can be a reality with a little planning and ingenuity. Flexibility in travel planning goes a long way to huge savings. Be a smart shopper and use the internet. It's a great resource for budget travel. By following these simple tips, you will be able to have your budget travel holiday.

When you think about your holiday plans, you may often imagine how nice it will be to spend time on the beach, or maybe splashing about in the sea. Such visions are often associated with summer and yet many of us know that this is the most expensive time to be taking a holiday. Some of the very best deals can be found in the autumn.
The problem with trying to go on holiday in the summer months is that so many other people want to travel at the same time of year. That's partly because many children don't have to attend school during the summer months, ensuring that it provides a good opportunity for families to travel. But it's also because many people believe that this time of year offers the best opportunity to have great weather.
The impact of such demand soon becomes clear. Airlines and holiday companies are able to charge a lot more for flights, accommodation and airport transfers during the summer months because they know that there are plenty of customers available to them. This helps to explain why many independent travel experts suggest that you should try to be as flexible as possible when making holiday bookings.
But what about avoiding travelling at peak times altogether? You may be worried that travelling in the autumn, for example, may mean that you're exposed to colder weather and simply won't have such a good time. Luckily, this needn't be the case. You'll find that there are plenty of locations where you can find perfectly pleasant weather conditions at later times of the year.
Indeed, some Mediterranean locations are at their very best during the autumn months. There is the added bonus, of course, in knowing that you'll also be able to take advantage of the lower prices that will be on offer. Always check out the best autumn holiday deals before booking a holiday.

How do you book your holidays? Are you somebody who likes to visit a high street travel agent to make a booking? Some people do still take this approach, but many more have decided that the best way to get discount holiday deals is to make bookings online.
This certainly seems to make sense. After all, internet travel agents are likely to have lower overheads than their high street rivals. That's because they don't have to spend a lot of money on premises and sales staff costs. But there are a number of problems with making a holiday booking, whether you choose to do so in a shop or via the internet.
One of the biggest problems is that you'll often have relatively little idea as to what you'll be getting for your money. You may be making a booking based on a hotel photograph, an official hotel rating and a brief description about the accommodation or resort.
Given the amount of money that you'll be spending, this seems like a surprisingly small amount of information to be using to make your decision. Things may be easier, of course, if you're returning to a resort or hotel that you've previously visited. But what if this is about to be your first visit?
This makes things much more difficult, particularly since you'll struggle to get much objective information from most online travel agents. They're main motivation is, after all, to encourage you to book a holiday. So what can you do?
Fortunately, there are some good solutions to be found online. One of the great benefits of the internet is that we now have access to far more information that we would once have imagined could be possible.
When booking a holiday, it means that we have access to independent reviews. We can use sites like Trip Advisor to see what previous guests have thought about the accommodation provided in particular hotels. You can use this independent information to guide you when making a booking.
The very best online travel companies are even prepared to provide information on these reviews on their own sites, making it much easier for you to make an informed decision.

The country is bordered to the south and west by Guatemala, to the north by Mexico, and to the east by the Caribbean Sea. Belize has a diverse society, composed of many cultures and speaking many languages. It is the only country in Central America where English is an official language, although Creole and Spanish are also widely spoken. Are you heading off to Paris this year? You'll probably have a great time but you certainly won't be alone once you get there. Such high-profile cities receive millions of visitors, meaning that it can sometimes be difficult to find your own space.
This doesn't have to be a problem. Sometimes we just accept that our holiday destination is likely to be busy and that we may have to face long queues for some attractions. But what if you struggle to get excited about spending time in crowded locations? If that describes you, then you may want to think about alternatives travel destinations.
Many of us are starting to realise that the very best holidays are often to be found somewhere off the beaten track. That means that you may want to avoid some of the more popular locations in Europe and further afield. There's nothing wrong with enjoying a holiday in France or Italy, for example, but maybe you could avoid the big cities.
You often find out a lot more about the country when you visit the areas that are loved by the locals. These are the places where you can often sample the best local dishes and see how people really live. They may not have the famous buildings and monuments that are frequently associated with major cities, but there may well be many other attractions.
So how do you find these hidden gems? The Internet is a great place to do your research. You might like to use websites and forums to try and see what local people are saying about their own countries. Find out where they would recommend to visit.
As a result of this information, it is likely that you'll hear about places that you previously knew little about. Just because you've not heard somewhere before, that doesn't mean that you won't have a great holiday there.
Travel is all about broadening your horizons and seeing new places. Heading to lesser known locations is likely to give you a real feeling of adventure.
When you come to book your next holiday, why not think about traveling to somewhere that less people may have previously heard of? You may find the entire experience extremely rewarding.

New Year is about to begin, and now is the best time to decide for the best holiday destinations. Spain, Thailand, Vietnam, Beijing, and places like Greek island are going to be the popular destination for the year 2009.
Because of the tremendous popularity of Olympics being held in Beijing, it is presumed that a lot of tourists will head towards Beijing for an exciting holiday season. However, the only hindrance and drawback of visiting China is the communication problem.
The best holiday deals are offered by many countries all over the world for the year 2009. However, some of the most desired destinations to visit in 2009 with best possible holiday deals include places like South America, Hungary, Morocco, Thailand, New Zealand, Jordan etc.
South America is one of the most exciting places among all the European cities in the world, and is an important place to consider for a holiday venture in the year 2009. The holiday deal is relatively cheap, and the place offers great charm and beautiful scenes and sights to its visitors.
The best holidays deal is the one that suits you in terms of the budget, and is worth spending money for. The capital of Hungary, Budapest is a great place to visit. The Castle Hill is the most attractive district, and the paprika-accented food of this place is more than just luring. This place has a lot to offer with its historical background, and its architecture being the biggest temptation for art lovers. Apart from this, the place is most suited for low budget visitors, and the holidays deal for the year 2009 are relatively cheaper than other Eastern European countries.
Morocco is another exciting place to visit in the holiday season of 2009. Cities like Rabat, Fes, and Marrakech are more inclined to portray the cultural and historical background of this Muslim country. However, Casablanca which is also the capital of Morocco is relatively a busy place with a lot of hassle and chaos. The Atlas mountain range is worth visiting. All in all, Morocco offers a great holiday package especially to the cultural and historical lovers.
Keeping aside of all you have heard about Ethiopia before, set out to plan a holiday to this place in the year 2009. The place has a lot to offer, and is quite adventurous from exploratory point of view. A lot of tourists are now visiting this place, and are overwhelmed by its history and culture. The Omo Valley in Ethiopia offers a look at the tribal life of Africa. The holiday package for the year 2009 is relatively cheap, yet lavishing.
Other important places to visit in the year 2009 include Queenstown in New Zealand, Jordan, and Kathmandu in Nepal. The best holiday deals are the ones which include cheap flights, cheap rents and accommodation, and yet offers great fun to spend your best time in. The places just mentioned above fulfill the criteria of being the best holiday destination for the year 2009 in every possible manner.

Holiday travel need not involve a trip to a boring unheard of town and sleeping on couches or kids' beds. Families these days are enjoying the trend toward planning holiday celebrations at vacation destinations. This way family members get to use their vacation time from work actually going somewhere fun and interesting instead of visiting their home towns. It is really a win-win situation because family members get to visit and celebrate the holidays while staying in a comfortable hotel and site-seeing.
Popular destinations for family gatherings include Las Vegas, Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, Florida, and the Caribbean. For Las Vegas, the Christmas holiday season marks the start of the Las Vegas busy season that lasts through the winter and into the spring as snowbirds escape cold and gray climates for Nevada sunshine and stimulating night life and casino action.
Because gambling is a popular activity for many people, Las Vegas is particularly well suited as a vacation destination for holiday family gatherings. There are plentiful hotel resorts with various themes. There are gambling games to satisfy every whim. Las Vegas shows really are world class entertainment, but the tickets aren't cheap by the way. The shopping is truly fabulous and an excellent way to get rid of any casino winnings.
Another thing that makes Las Vegas and other gambling destinations appealing to families planning a holiday vacation is the potential for low room rates. A family member who is a regular or at least an annual casino visitor can get a player rating that will qualify him or her for complimentary prices or "comps" on rooms and meals. Casino resorts are eager to sign up visitors for their player rating or player points as part of their marketing efforts. Usually a player can find out about the deals offered by casinos by talking to guest services or a casino floor supervisor.
Tips for a successful holiday family vacation:
Plan as early as possible to get good rates on flights and rooms.
Be willing to compromise. If everyone can't decide on where to go, let majority rule. If the vacation turns out to be a bust, everyone will know who to listen to next time.
Plan for free time. Don't pack so many activities into each day that nerves get frazzled and tempers flare. Relax and have fun at a leisurely pace.
Vacation destinations and resorts are eager to Alternative place for families to family reunions interested in a house. And the families are also happy to provide any argument about who the family vacation for the hosts, and beautiful, all the chores necessary to avoid preparing for guests jump.

As the big holiday week approaches, many of us are planning to travel to see our families and loved ones all over the country. While it is wonderful to see that family still means something to so many Americans, driving during the holidays can be really dangerous. There are more cars on the road than any other time except Thanksgiving, and often the road conditions are far from optimal.
So here are some things to keep in mind this holiday season if you are planning to make your way to through the forest and over the river, to Grandmother's house. Especially if you are traveling with children, these tips can make a long slog through the traffic into a fun adventure.
Plan alternative routes
Plan several alternative routes, in fact. All it takes is one collision to back up traffic for several hours on a busy interstate during the holidays. Knowing a way around the hot spots can save time, and headaches.
In fact, consider not driving the interstates for part of the journey anyways. The hundreds of country roads that criss-cross the United States are often ignored during the holidays except for local traffic. This can be a much more interesting drive, and you will not lose as much time as you think. It can be a great opportunity to keep the kids entertained as the "real America" passes by.
However, do not make your way up a small mountain road if you do not know the territory. Last year, a family from Oregon made a fatal choice by taking a "cut-through" down a dirt road that ended up getting them lost and snowed in for days. Stick to the choices that come up on the GPS before pioneering new lands up icy roads.
Pack the car for safety
Every passenger car should have a first aid kit, a flashlight and extra batteries, and a couple wool blankets if traveling in the winter. Also make sure there are snacks and safe drinking water for every passenger in case of breakdown. You never know when these items will come in handy, and you will also feel better knowing you are prepared.
If traveling with infants, some more safety gear includes extra diapers, baby powder, baby wipes and an insect-proof ground sheet for playing safely outside. Some parents always keep an extra diaper bag in the trunk that is packed with the necessities. For more infant travel tips, visit the
Driving safely with children
Hopefully everyone already knows this, but never have a child under thirteen years old in the front passenger seat. In the event of a collision, the airbags can be dangerous - fatally so - to young children and infants.
Infant seats should always be in the back seat. If the infant is less than a year old and less than 20 lbs, the car seat should be facing backwards. After this age, front-facing infant seats are appropriate. For added precaution, check the straps and locks on all infant seats before leaving home. Improperly installed car seats can be dangerous to everyone in the vehicle. For more infant travel tips, consult the American Academy of Pediatrics.
If you are unaccustomed to driving with children in the car, make sure there are plenty of diversions for the kids to stay engaged. Children can become extraordinarily restless on long trips.... Maybe you remember this from your own childhood. By having someone in charge of keeping the kids happy - ideally not the driver - the trip will be more fun for everyone.

Plan golf holidays with someone special or a group of friends. The Mena House Oberoi offers an 18 hole golf course with impressive views of the pyramids. The Meno House Oberoi Cairo is a luxury hotel that is impressive in every way, including their amazing golf course and a great place to spend your holidays in Cairo. What an amazing background for your next round of golf. You should also take a little time to enjoy the gardens and green along the golf course. It is possible to take lessons but you will want to plan for lessons ahead of time. It is a good idea to set your tee time as soon as you know you are planning to visit Cairo to insure that you work in a round or two of golf during your stay. booking these can be found at search4sun.com
History is in abundant supply in Cairo. From the Gizeh Pyramids to the Egyptian Museum and countless points in between there is much history to explore on the streets of Cairo. Make plans to visit Memphis, Cairo Tower, the Nile River, the Citadel, and several stunning Mosques while you are here to get a real sense of the area and it's past.
Appropriate Dress Respect is important when you are exploring the culture of others. Cairo is a largely Muslim community and women need to be respectful of the people in their host country. One way to do this is to avoid wearing tight fitting clothes that have no sleeves or offer plunging necklines when traveling around in town, particularly in the areas around the Mosques. While you do not have to wear full head covering you may wish to wear a scarf over your hair and long sleeved, loose fitting shirts and pants.
Beach holidays to Cairo are a moot point. There aren't any real beaches in Cairo to explore though you can stay in nearby locations that have beaches and take day trips to Cairo or do the opposite with day trips to the beaches. Dive holidays are sadly the same story. Cairo is not the holiday of choice for those that are interested in beaches though there is plenty of sand and sun to enjoy in Cairo.
Late deals to Cairo are possible and great when you are traveling with one or two. If you are traveling with family or a large group it is best to book in advance to insure that there are plenty of rooms and/or seats on the flight. All inclusive holidays to Cairo include everything from transportation to food and are ideally suited for those who need to keep cheap holidays within a certain spending limit but still want to enjoy many local attractions.

People usually pick up souvenirs and gifts as mementos of their vacation. There is a wide plethora of souvenirs, novelties and travel gifts one can pick up while travelling. These souvenirs usually have a special meaning attached to the trip. Over time, these remind of the time spent on vacation. The value of the mementos keeps increasing over the years. More than anything else, just collecting souvenirs is sheer fun.
There are times when an individual travels to some other town or country and relatives and friends expect to be gifted on their return. Souvenirs are apt gifts for the babysitter, who usually watches over the kids or people who watch over the house while you are away. There are people who appreciate souvenirs like baseball hats and T-shirts and even a magnet with the country or state's name on it. However big or small the gift, remember that it is the thought that counts.
Whenever you go out shopping for travel gifts and mementos, don't forget those people back home who are eagerly awaiting your return. If there are a lot of children in the neighborhood or in your extended family, make sure you buy sufficient souvenirs for all. Keep a backup of souvenirs, as these come handy if you unintentionally forget somebody or want one for yourself. When you buy two or three mementos of a particular kind, don't forget to keep one for yourself.
Refrigerator magnets with the state's image or map are the least expensive and the most popular mementos. One can also buy ashtrays, coffee mugs, travel mugs, glasses and cigarette lighters. You need not be a coffee drinker or a smoker to purchase or receive these travel gifts. They make wonderful trinkets for displaying.
Key chains, window decals, bumper stickers, miniature spoons, miniature tea sets and glass bells, which display the name or map of the country or state, also make wonderful gifts and souvenirs. These items prove to be great holiday gifts for relatives and neighbors. There are some people who maintain a fine collection of miniature tea sets or spoons and your gift could make an excellent addition to their collection. T-shirts, baseball hats, sweat shirts, jackets, coolers and pens with the country or state namesake imprints and other gifts prove to be excellent gifts for the kids, your family and yourself.
When you travel out of the country, check out the amazing collection of mementos available on and off line.
When you go souvenir shopping during your vacation, make sure you buy a sufficient quantity of the special gifts. Follow this particularly if you are travelling to a place you may never be able to re-visit. It is always a good idea to bring something back to remind you time and again of the memorable trip.

A holiday in the Algarve shouldn't be about spending all day every day on the beach. It is a diverse area with an eclectic mix of things to do, so get out there and do something different. To help you, here are 5 things you might like to try:
Visit one of its many interesting towns. If you think the Algarve is just a collection seaside resorts, you'd be wrong. It's full of history and interesting architecture. Silves is a quiet town in the central Algarve with plenty of history, including battles against the Carthaginians, Romans and the Moors. The town is dominated by a large sandstone Castle, which looks down on the red roofed town. Enjoy the fantastic views from the ramparts over the surrounding countryside carpeted with orange groves.
From Silves, take a boat along the River Arade towards the Atlantic Ocean and into the western Algarve. You'll end up in Portimao, a town perhaps most famous for its sardines. These are best in the summer, when they're at their plumpest and juiciest, and the air is awash with the aroma of these fish barbequing.
Wander down to the riverfront, to the famous Sardine Dock and take a seat at one of the restaurants there. Delight in a lazy lunch of grilled sardines and fresh crusty bread, washed down with a cooling glass of Vinho Verde.
Portimao is the main area in the Algarve for boat trips, cruises and Big Game fishing. All of these can be booked and boarded from the harbour or from the Marina in nearby Praia da Rocha. So, when your sardine lunch has been digested, why not join a high speed Rigid Inflatable Boat from the marina to watch dolphins.
If conditions are right and you come across a large pod it's an experience hard to beat. Sometimes these pods can be in excess of a hundred dolphins, so don't forget your camera! Of course there is no guarantee that you'll see any dolphins, but these guys know where to look, so the chances are quite high. Trips are also available from the marina in Lagos, Alvor harbour and also from Albufeira.
No visit to the Algarve is complete without enjoying an evening of Fado, or Portuguese folk music. It is music symbolic of the spirit of Portugal, and although it originated in northern Portugal, you'll find it performed of an evening in bars and hotels throughout the Algarve. Accompanied by guitars, the vocalist sings mournful songs of fate, loves lost and the general complications of life. An enjoyable experience even if you don't rush out and buy the CD afterwards!
After all these activities you'll be ready to wind down, and you'll find nothing more romantic and relaxing than the sunset at Sagres. A village at the most south-westerly point of the Algarve, it is a stark settlement, remote, rugged and windswept and is surrounded by scrubby countryside, dramatic cliffs and wild beaches. Take an evening to enjoy a seafood dinner at the Pousada (Government run hotel), then take a nightcap onto the patio and enjoy the beautiful views as the sun disappears over the cliffs of Cabo St. Vincente.

Below are some Caribbean travel tips to help you get the most out of your tropical excursion:
Get an early start.
If there's anything you absolutely must do when you go on a Caribbean vacation that is to start early. There are a lot of things you need to take care of. Trip planning can be a tough nut to crack. Often, a passport may be required before you can enter the country you are planning to travel. One Caribbean travel tip you ought to consider is to prepare all your travel documents as early as now.
Choose an island.
Culture-shock. That is bound to happen if you don't do your research beforehand. One thing you should remember about the Caribbean is that it has a culture that is as widely diverse as its people. So take this Caribbean travel tip: read up on the culture and people for the places you will travel.
Another thing, as you travel, keep abreast of local news coverage. If you are in an area experiencing civil unrest or a natural disaster, or if you are going to a place where communications is poor, register with the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate for your own safety.
Registration at the State Department's TravelRegistration.state.gov website takes only a few minutes, and certainly invaluable in case of emergency. In addition, you can also get up to date Caribbean travel tips and information on any country in the world by obtaining the Department of State's Consular Information Sheet.
Entry.
Every island in the Caribbean has its own entry requirements. That is why your first Caribbean travel tip is to prepare all your documents before you leave home. If you can show proof that you are a U.S. citizen and a return or onward ticket, most countries will allow you to visit for up to two or three months.
Take this as both a Caribbean travel tip and caution: There are countries in the Caribbean with areas infected with yellow fever. If you come from any of these areas, you may be required to have a certificate of vaccination against yellow fever.
Also, some airports may require departure tax of up to $25.
Return.
There are some Caribbean countries that require only your birth certificate as an entry requirement. However, this should be reason for you to slack off on your travel documents. Remember that U.S. Immigration requires that you document both your U.S. citizenship and identity. Take this Caribbean travel tip and make sure you can return to the United States with both these documents.
But what is the best document that can prove your U.S. citizenship? The best proof is a valid U.S. passport. However, other travelers give these Caribbean travel tips as documents you can use besides that to prove U.S. citizenship:
Expired U.S. passport
Certified copy of birth certificate
Certificate of Naturalization
Certificate of Citizenship
Report of Birth Abroad of a U.S. Citizen
